Welcome
Thank you for visiting the ESCAPE Program. What started out as a few techniques to get our personnel out of violent situations has developed into an all-encompassing safety program for anyone that interacts with patients. For years, both EMS and nursing agencies have cited "Violent Patients" as a significant problem but few provide training to address this dangerous issue. Until now, medically accepted and liability conscious programs specifically designed for medical staff have been non-existent.ESCAPE Program News

Over 90% of all confrontation stems from improper verbal communications. For years the ESCAPE Program has concentrated on hands-on techniques to control violent situations but lacked the true backing of a nationally recognized program for verbal de-escalation. Verbal Judo is a “tactical communications” program designed to increase professionalism and generate voluntary compliance with words. ESCAPE founder Shawn Tompkins completed the necessary training and certification for “instructor status” of this program and will be implementing many of its theories to ESCAPE’s outline immediately.
